Working part-time while still at school/college
Getting a part-time job is a good way of using your leisure time. Any kind of work experience can improve your career prospects and you can earn money at the same time!
But, did you know that until you reach school leaving age you must have a work permit to do any part-time job?
The type of work you can do depends on your age and on local regulations. You can work a maximum of 12 hours per week during term time. This increases during the holidays, depending on your age.
Lots of opportunities will be open to you, but remember - it is illegal for someone to employ you without a permit!
More information and work permits are available from your local Education Welfare Office or contact Brenda Douglass at County Hall on 01670 5336633
