Connexions VCS Personal Advisers
The VCS Personal Advisers (PA) are based in four VCS youth organisations providing information, advice, guidance and support in general terms to young people accessing the youth organisation and other local youth projects. They can provide one to one support to a young person as required to:
- resolve a particular issue
- access a particular service
- continue personal development
- sustain ongoing progress towards adulthood
The VCS PAs provide access for those young people who feel excluded from mainstream service and need a more flexible approach to their needs. The VCS PA will work actively with young people who are Not in Education, Employment or Training (NEET) to support their progress back into Education, Employment or Training (EET). The VCS PA is also an integral part of the local Connexions Team and will act as the referral agent for young people to other specialists or training providers when necessary.
