GCSE - courses & qualifications

The range of GCSE subjects available has been widened to include specialist subjects such as Art and Design, Applied Business, Engineering, Health and Social Care, Applied ICT, Leisure and Tourism, Manufacturing and Applied Science.  Through coursework and exams you build up a qualification of 3 units which is graded A* – G. If you pass all three units your final qualification is equal to two GCSEs. All these courses also include the Key Skills of Communication, ICT and Application of Number.

If you are haven’t yet achieved grade C or above in GCSE English Language and Maths, some schools and colleges will give you the opportunity to resit. These two subjects are fundamental for entry into a lot of career areas and necessary for entry into some universities.
